Be safe in your Cyber Behaviour
Security at Computer or Phone Login:
- Use complex passwords, which is easy to remember.
- Change passwords frequently.
- Do not click on Auto Save’ or ‘Remember’ function in your device/ browser to avoid storing of user ID and passwords.
- Never write down or disclose your user ID passwords or PIN. Bank never asks for user ID/passwords/ PIN/ Card No/CVV.
Security for Internet Banking:
- Ensure that in the address bar of our banking site “https” is present
- Avoid online transactions at public places while using public / open Wi-Fi
- Logout and close the browser after finishing your banking work.
Mobile Banking Security:
- For login use biometric authentication wherever feasible.
- Use strong passwords/ PIN/ Patterns/ Biometric for accessing your phone, tablets.
- Use official stores for downloading any applications.
- Before downloading any app confirm its authenticity.
- Keep a tab on the permissions of apps in your phone
- Do not connect phones to public wireless networks.
Social Media Security:
- Avoid “too good to be true” offer in the social media platform.
- Do not share personal/financial info on any social media platform.
- Do not discuss confidential information in public.
Card Security:
- Avoid performing ATM transactions through ATM machines or POS devices in front of other person. Preferably, cover the keypad at the time of entering the PIN.
- Use trusted and known e-commerce websites.
- Manage your ATM/ debit card transactions using net banking. Limit for card transactions can be set. at e-commerce sites, POS and ATM (for domestic and international).
General UPI Security:
- Remember that PIN is required for transferring amounts from your account, not for receiving.
- Use separate Mobile PIN and UPI PIN.
- Respond to only known UPI requests.
- For any suspicious requests, report.
